That sounds and looks very tranquil. I’m sure you and Laurie are basking in the French countryside.

It is quite something. They put a big national pride on beauty, great food etc.

Beautiful, all of it, your words, the poem. Those photographs, illustrations- Renoir and Monet, both.

Like some hoped for paradise.

Yeah, and can't we all use a little paradise these days with the trial of the orange shit going on. Laurie and I are glued to various news sources for the first half of the day.

Omg what are you doing to that heaven you’re in? (Though must say the cheap jokes today are hilarious 🔥)(immature — what can I say..)

Yup, I am enjoying them too, all the cheap jokes. I got out almost every morning and get a baguette and or a croissant, maybe a pain au raisin. The pain au chocolat ain't too bad either. We stroll every afternoon for an hour or two and almost every evening because it's so goddamned gorgeous at night. I am working on a poem called Sunday Market. It's colorful and I want to put Laurie's super photos all over it.

Also meant to ask you to please tell Laurie those photographs are great - was she intentionally recreating impressionist works? Either way so beautiful

She was definitely recreating as much Renoir stuff like the scenes he painted in parks like the "Dance at Le moulin de la Galette". Laurie has a really good eye for composition, color, light, emotion, all that good stuff.

She does for sure. The dappled light on the slope near the river I first mistook for a painting.

The Sunday market poem is a wonderful concept - - we’d go every week to the market around the church square by our apartment in Athens. I regret I didn’t capture it on my camera when I was there. Every thing from chickens to roses..

Your poem will be gorgeous - and the scents even richer.
