Weston Parker, Laurie Easton Parker: Ms. Parker's photography shows a real artist behind the camera.

The Cypress is often a subject of the wavy art of Vincent van Gogh.

Your poetry is very evocative and the stain glass captured by Laurie Easton Parker shows the thin, high reaching and pointed symbol of the cypress, as you state.

Cause I knew you would convert it and ask! It’s arbitrary. Compared to infinitely bad, it’s close to the mark.

Within 0.6875 “ of a great poem! Brought to mind a poem on my Substack called The Stoic - the world through the eyes of a Willow tree

We have a dozen or so cypresses near on our property line, and there is just one that has a sole branch bending out, and in the evening breeze it always looks like a hand waving. I hope our neighbor never cuts it off, as I know it bothers her, but it's a bit too high up.

Every part of this is full of beauty: the poem, the photographs, the painting, the concepts.

Thanks Amy. If you haven't seen some of Doug Moulden's painting you should check out his website. My wife loved your cactus bloom photos with the bees floating there.

Every bit of this, beauty. Laurie’s photo of the cypress lined lane - leading to the afterlife.

Happily recognized Mr. Moultons work - all of it stunning. Including the sarcophagus. Brilliant piece.

So happy to read this poem, can feel the heat of the wind, (remembering the hot winds of the Melteme on the island in late August)

Just beautiful. All of it.

I remember the Melteme, one of the winds my godfather Noti had me memorize, along with Bora, Sirocco, Etasia. I’ve forgotten the rest.

I know I told you he was a merchant seaman all his life. He was born right around the turn of the century and he got to train on a ship with sails but spent his career on ships with engines but he never lost his love of sail.

No wonder he seems so familiar to me - my mom’s father did the same. Their eyes learn to see into the distance and their love of the sea never leaves them.
